Ghana VAT calculation

VAT and statutory levies

Move in either direction between a taxable value and a tax-inclusive invoice. Add CST and Tourism Levy where the transaction legally attracts them.

Classify the transaction before selecting a levy. Zero-rated, exempt and relief supplies require legal classification before any rate is applied.

Ghana withholding calculation

Income-tax withholding and VAT withholding

Select the recipient and payment category, identify the invoice basis, and separate income-tax WHT from the distinct 7% VAT-withholding mechanism.

Related contracts are aggregated for the resident GHS 2,000 contract threshold. The invoice working keeps CST, VAT, levies, income-tax WHT and WHVAT separate.

2026 social-security calculation

SSNIT and Tier 2 contributions

Calculate the employee deduction, employer contribution, SSNIT remittance and Tier 2 allocation from monthly basic salary using the official 2026 minimum and maximum insurable earnings.

This is the mandatory contribution model for a covered worker. Exemptions, multiple employments and voluntary contributions require separate review.

Act 766 pension calculation

SSNIT old-age pension estimate

Estimate the Tier 1 monthly pension from the average of the member's best three annual salaries, contribution months and retirement age.

This estimates the SSNIT Tier 1 pension only. It does not apply the full-pension age rules for qualifying hazardous employment. Tier 2 and Tier 3 benefits depend on the member's scheme and fund value.

2026 Ghana tax calendar

Compliance deadline finder and annual calendar

Find one statutory date or build the complete 2026 tax calendar, including monthly obligations, annual filings, quarterly levies and company-year-end deadlines.

The 2026 dates are maintained in the MSL Business School tax calendar. Applicable taxpayer status and special filing directions must still be checked.

Revenue Administration Act calculation

Late-payment interest and late-filing penalty

Calculate statutory late-payment interest with automatic historical Bank of Ghana rates and monthly compounding, or calculate the fixed-plus-daily late-filing penalty.

The late-payment calculation uses the verified rate effective when each monthly period starts. If the Bank of Ghana changes the rate inside a period, the new rate applies from the next period so the calculation retains the one monthly compounding event prescribed by Act 915.

Ghana capital allowance calculation

Capital allowance schedule

Use a quick pool calculation or build an advanced asset register with first-year prorating, individual vehicle restrictions, disposals, repairs and CSV import.

The advanced result identifies direct repair deductions, capitalised excess, assessable realisation amounts, closing WDV and the cost base used for every straight-line pool.

Calculation method and legal scope

How this Ghana pension estimate works

The calculator uses the contribution months and any permitted credited period entered to determine the pension right under the applicable pension framework.

Pensionable earnings are based on the best-three-years average annual salary entered. The estimate then converts the annual benefit into a monthly amount.

This is an estimate from the information supplied. SSNIT's member record, contribution validation and benefit determination remain decisive for an actual claim.

Other TaxLawGH calculators

Pensions law

National Pensions Act, 2008 (Act 766), as amended, including the pension-right and benefit framework.

Member record

Contribution months and any permitted credits must reflect the member's validated record.

Earnings base

The calculator uses the best-three-years average annual salary entered by the user.

Estimate boundary

The displayed amount is not an SSNIT benefit award and does not replace member-record validation.

Frequently asked questions

Using the Ghana Pension Calculator

What information is needed for the Ghana pension estimate?

Enter the relevant age or dates, contribution months, any permitted credited months and the best-three-years average annual salary.

What is the best-three-years salary input?

It is the average annual salary for the member's best three years used for the estimate. Use a figure supported by the member's contribution record.

Does the calculator determine pension eligibility?

It applies the inputs to the programmed pension framework, but an actual claim depends on SSNIT's validated member record and formal determination.

Is the result a guaranteed SSNIT pension?

No. It is an estimate based on the information entered. Missing contributions, record corrections or facts not entered can change the formal benefit.

Can I use the calculator before retirement?

Yes. It can help model the effect of age, contribution duration and pensionable earnings, but future contributions and later legal changes are not predictions.
